About the Role

 

As a Mathematical Statistician III, you will operate as a senior expert within our organization, responsible for the statistical integrity of our most significant projects. This is not just an analysis role; you will be the driving force behind the design and implementation of new statistical models and methodologies. You will have a high degree of autonomy and will be expected to provide expert consultation to cross-functional teams, including engineers, researchers, and executive leadership. Key Responsibilities

 

  • Advanced Methodologies: Design, develop, and implement advanced statistical methodologies to solve complex, real-world problems. This includes everything from experimental design and hypothesis testing to sophisticated predictive modeling and Bayesian analysis.

  • Complex Data Analysis: Analyze large, multi-source, and often unstructured datasets to identify trends, patterns, and relationships that drive business insights and scientific discoveries.

  • Expert Consultation: Serve as the primary statistical expert for internal teams, providing guidance and recommendations on appropriate statistical techniques, sample sizes, and data collection methods.

  • Reporting & Communication: Prepare and present comprehensive reports, visualizations, and presentations that communicate complex statistical findings clearly and effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences.

  • Mentorship & Leadership: Provide guidance, mentorship, and training to less experienced statisticians and data analysts, helping to build a more skilled and cohesive team.

  • Innovation & Research: Stay current with the latest advancements in statistical theory, data science, and relevant software, proposing and implementing innovative new methods to enhance our analytical capabilities.

  • Project Leadership: Lead the statistical components of major research studies and projects from inception to completion, ensuring the highest standards of quality and reproducibility.


 

Qualifications & Skills

 

  • Education: A Master's degree in Statistics, Mathematics, or a related quantitative field is required. A Ph.D. is strongly preferred.

  • Experience: A minimum of 5-7 years of progressive experience as a mathematical statistician or in a related data science role.

  • Technical Expertise:

    • Statistical Software: Expertise in one or more statistical programming languages, such as R, Python, or SAS.

    • Data Manipulation: Strong proficiency with data manipulation and querying using SQL.

    • Tools: Familiarity with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) and experience with big data technologies (e.g., Hadoop, Spark) is a plus.
